Here is something new -- we call it Lean Sales, Service and Marketing
Lean: the expenditure of resources for any goal other than the creation of value for the end customer to be wasteful, and thus a target for elimination. Lean is a variation on the theme of efficiency; or more specifically increasing efficiency, eliminating waste, and using empirical methods to decide what’s important, rather than unquestioningly accepting pre-existing ideas of how things get done.
In more basic terms, Lean = Increasing Value While Eliminating Waste. Lean manufacturing has been in use for the past 20 years. The question arises, "Why should Lean be used only in a manufacturing environment? Shouldn’t the same Lean analytical and design tools used for manufacturing be applicable to the Sales environment? What about Customer Service? Marketing?”
